BBI Autosport Stage II Porsche Turbo : The pictures below are of my 2007 Porsche Turbo (997TT). I purchased the car in November 2007 at Newport Beach Porsche. In June of 2007 I took it over to the guys at BBI Autosport in Huntington Beach, CA to have it modified. I had Betim and the gang build me a custom exhaust, flash a dynamic ECU program, install a new underdrive pulley system and IPD Plenum. I also got a set of 20" HRE Monoblock P43s in textured black. The guys threw in some really nice touches with custom paint work on the Y-pipe and airbox including a custom name plate. The car is incredibly fast and just takes off like a rocket. It is hitting at least 520 bhp and well over 500 tq. The exhaust makes an absolutely wicked sound. The project turned out just as I envisioned it and more. In short, it is my pride and joy.

Brabus B55 : I purchased my Mercedes SLK55 AMG from Fletcher Jones in Newport Beach in February of 2006. In that same month, I took the car to the Brabus tuning center nearby and had it heavily modified. The list of customizations is really too long to set forth here. The highlight must be the Brabus B55 engine performance kit that takes the car from 360hp to just under 400hp. A later custom ECU flash later took the car to 420hp at the crank. In a car this light and nimble, that begins to feel like supercar territory. The cosmetic highlights include Brabus Monoblock S wheels, illuminated door sills, custom interior appointments including sport steering wheel, shifter and carbon roadster bars and carbon fiber interior accents. Of course, what gets the most attention are the vertical doors. I made this my final modification on the car. I normally would never do something so flamboyant. But they just seemed to "fit" on the SLK.

In the end, the car is simply a brutally fast ride that is totally a one-of-a-kind car. It takes off like a rocket, screaming and screeching with that normally aspirated 5.5 liter V8 pushing it through the entire gear range. The car has so much power and torque all the way to the limiter that you feel like there is no move on the road you can't make. It is just total exhiliaration. I would stack it up against the likes of a Ferrari F360 or BMW M3 any day. For the first 2 years of its life it had an ominous vanity plate that read "BAD B55" - and that it was. Recently, since I purchased my Porsche Turbo, my wife has been driving it as her daily and has changed the plate to read her name. To me, however, it will always be the Bad B55. My first true automotive love affair. And let me tell you, even after driving my 520hp Porsche for 6 months, the B55 still feels hella fast!

This car was featured in two major magazine articles about the Brabus tuning center. The first was by Josh Dean in the February 2007 issue of Best Life Magazine (http://www.bestlifeonline.com/cms/publish/best-cars/German_Reengineering.shtml). And the second was in the March 2007 issue of Coast magazine (not available on the Web but I will upload a .pdf version soon). Through this process I became great friends with the folks at Brabus expecially my salesman Matt, the retail sales manager Andreas, head mechanic Peter and the owner Claus. A special thanks goes out to Mr. Hikes - the man who rebuilt the engine.

BBI Fabrication Process : In June of 2008, I had my 997TT modified by BBI Autosport in Huntington Beach, CA. They added a custom exhaust, dynamic ECU, IPD plenum, under-drive pulley and HRE Monoblock P43 wheels in 20". The car is now putting down over 500 hp and 475 tq to the wheel! It has a very nice exhaust note too (see my Car Vids section for a few clips). BBI has unmatched craftsmanship and fabrication. Thanks go out to Betim, Matt, Joey and Jared at BBI!

Below are a few pics of the car being modified. The main piece was the beautiful custom exhaust. Just look at their work. It speaks for itself.

My Ferrari 360 Modena : As the culmination of a life-long dream, I purchased my first Ferrari on March 20, 2009. It is a 2004 360 Modena coupe. It features power Daytona seats, Challenge grill, modular wheels, upgraded Hi Fi sound, and Scuderia shields. Driving this car makes me feel fantastic. It is a nice compliment to my Porsche.
